The objectives in a concavity exercise are the same as those posed for a convexity, only the subject matter is exclusively interior. The negative space, then, becomes the dominant visual feature. Controlling this space is predicated on a balance between visual tension and comparative proportion. If either of these elements become too weak or dissonant, the negative space can become lost.
